Now that you have a Tinker's tool, It is probably important to know how to check it's durability and repair it. Hold sneak over the tool and you should see durability and repair material. Keep note of this repair material.

To repair the tool you have, take it back to the tool station along with some of the material listed under repair material, which in this case is flint. Place the tool and wood in the tool station as shown below.

You are probably only sick of only being able to mine stone, luckily we can upgrade the pickaxe to make it better! how do you do it? Just use the tool.

Take another look at the stats of the pick. I want to point out 1 specific stat to look at, the Mining XP stat. You are going to need to fill up that XP "bar" up by just mining stone. You should get 1XP per block of stone or ore you mine with the tool.

Once you have leveled up the mining level you should now see a mining level of copper.

A mining level of copper means you can now mine the following ores: Copper, Certus Quartz, Aluminum, Lapis, and Coal.

I should mention, before you go off an make a second pickaxe with a differnt pickaxe head there is a way to exchange parts on your tool. The next page will walk you through changing your pickaxe head from flint to copper.
